PROLOGUES AND EPILOGUES.
Prologues and Epilogues, celebrated for their Poetical Merit.
Oxford: Printed by W. Jackson, and sold by S. Bladon..., no date [1790]. 12mo, 169 x 103 mms, pp. [viii], 263 [264 blank], 19th century ribbed cloth, morocco label; rebacked with part of old cloth spine laid down; lacks portrait. With the armorial bookplate of George Stephens on the front paste-down end-paper. Many of the prologues and epilogues are taken from Dryden's plays. "Vol. I" appears in the lower margin of the recto of the first leaf in each gathering, but I have not been able to discover is there were further volumes.
